Tips for Keeping Your Beard Clean

Do you ever believe that cleanliness is one way to determine a person’s personality? Of course! People are used to getting looked at every day; while walking down the street, riding a bus, even while eating at your favorite restaurant.

It is human nature to check on another person’s appearance, and that includes the facial hair. Because of this, guys need to learn how to maintain a clean and healthy beard.

With this said, we can make sure that our beard is in good shape, which can improve our looks, confidence, and especially our health.

In this article, we’re going to look into different tips on how to manage a clean beard.

Wash Your Beard Regularly

Like other parts of the body, our facial hair also requires consistent washing to be healthy. Cleaning your beard does clean not only the hair itself but also the skin underneath. So it is as essential to wash your face along with your beard regularly to avoid dirt build-up. It is not advisable to wash your beard daily; a better way is to wash it at least two to three times a week. There are different brands and types of beard shampoo that you could consider to wash your beard. Although it is not entirely necessary to wash your beard using specialized beard shampoo, using regular shampoo is okay, just like washing your hair. The best way to clean your beard is to gently scrub it with your fingers then rinse with warm water. After rinsing, pat it dry with a towel. Once done, your beard is now good to go.

Remember to Apply Beard Oil

Beard oil serves as our beard’s moisturizer. As discussed earlier, washing our beard is essential to maintaining a good condition. However, continually washing our beard will remove not only dirt but also some of your beard’s natural oils. So if you want to have a nice grown beard, always keep in mind to hydrate it with beard oil after every wash. To do this, apply a pretty small amount of beard oil onto your beard, and massage it gently. Make sure to cover all the bearded area. Make this a routine, and you’ll be surprised by the results.

Trim the Beard

Trimming our beard is like having a haircut. We regularly visit the barbershop once or twice a month to have a haircut. We often feel the need to have a haircut when our hair becomes uncomfortable and sometimes messy. Then after a visit to the barbershop, our hair looks good as new, and we feel more comfortable. This feeling goes the same with our beard. Without proper trimming, our beard might grow dull, messy, and uncomfortable. We need to regularly trim our beard to remove split ends and keep your beard in shape. To do this, you can use an ordinary pair of scissors, or you can invest in a high-quality trimmer. Once you have your trimming equipment, you may now start trimming your beard – remove split ends and try to search for beard styles that best fit the shape of your head. Properly trimmed beard reduces dirt build-up and improves the overall appearance of your beard.

Eating Healthy

Our body system requires sufficient nutrients to stay healthy and to survive. Different parts and organs of our body, including our bread, of course, heavily depend on these nutrients to function properly and look its best. For us to gain these essential nutrients, we need to consume foods that will supply us with these needs. Biotin – which is vital for hair growth, and Niacin – which promotes the circulation of blood to hair follicles, are one of the common vitamins needed to have a healthy beard. We can get these vitamins in bread, fish, pork, chicken, liver, and strawberries. Including a healthy diet will significantly improve the looks and health of your beard, as well as your whole body.
